Syllabus

Unit One: Understanding words, variable expressions, properties, and relation.

Understanding integer operations, graphing in four quadrants and transformation in the

coordinate plane.

Unit Two: Developing the skills of rational number operation, Understanding the relation between

fraction and decimal.

Unit Three: Applying the distributive properties to simplify algebraic expressions and solve equations.

Writing Equation and solving word problems.

Unit Four: Solving Inequalities and modeling the word problems by applying inequalities concept.

Unit Five: Mastering Ratios, unit rate, conversation rates and measurements. Differentiating the

proportional and non-proportional relationships

Unit Six: Solving Proportions, Similar figures. Understanding fractions, percentage, decimal, percent of

change, simple and compound interests.

Unit Seven: Function, linear function, graphing, rate of change, slope, slope- intercept form, direct Variation.

Unite Eight: Power and exponents, Scientific notation, Multiplying and Dividing Monomials. Linear and

nonlinear function, quadratic functions

Unit Ten: Square Root, The Pythagorean Theorem, Distance formula
